God Answers Prayer!

While sitting at the table doing her homework my daughter often talks about her school day, what she ate for lunch or who said or did what to who. Today's talk just blew me away. While driving to her violin studio class she and her dad witnessed a family being struck by a car. A young man blew through an intersection while turning a corner where a boy on a tricycle and Dad carrying a baby were crossing. In a flash the boy was under the car and the man and baby on top of it. As I listened to her tell the story, I began to imagine the terror my daughter experienced in witnessing this event. And then she said something that just blew me away. "I just sat there and prayed Mommy." As her dad got out of the car to lend a hand, my little 9 year old sat and prayed to our heavenly Father that He protect and save that family. The best part of all? God answered her prayer.

If you haven't picked it up yet, I highly recommend reading "Heaven is for Real" by Todd Burpo. This isn't your run of the mill book about finding God in everyday life. It's about the extraordinary miracles God performs around us, the power of heartfelt prayer, and the promise of an eternity spent with our Savior. I guarantee it will change the way you look at life.

Just yesterday I heard from my brother and sister-in-law that their baby boy had come out of surgery with an unexpected miracle. You see, he'd had surgery recently to repair his cleft lip and last week developed an infection. The family cried out for prayer and healing. When the doctors went in to work on the site of the surgery, they found a tooth they hadn't seen before. Had the site healed this tooth could have caused a world of problems. Praise God for His provision!

I want to know what God's been doing in your life. Share with me the joy you've experienced in God's answer to your prayers.

I look forward to your comments. Have a glorious, miraculous, God given day!

  3. I am doubtful sometimes , I have no idea why , because God continually answers our prayers ,(I only feel like writing this because I feel lead to do it , its a little embarrasing ) but maybe someone needs to read it ??? Last Sunday my husband put our LAST , and when I say last , I mean last , no savings, no credit cards nothing, and he was just laid off . anyways , our last $3 in the offering at church , he is far more faithful and trusting than I am , I would have flipped out had I known , I mean we need milk for the baby !! Well the next day his friend called him and said he had something he needed to drop off to him , and came by . It was an envelope and my husband came up to the apartment and opened it , It was $100 , with an anonymous note , just saying it was for our family , then later in the evening my mother called me and asked if he was bringing my daughter up to Ohio to see all the family (we live in KY) well when he got there she gave him an envelope with $200 in it! For no reason in particular , we hadn't asked or mentioned anything. I know this is nothing like a family being saved (and praise God they were , and that your daughter was there to pray) But I really don't think it is a coincidence that my husband put $3 in the offering and then we were randomly given $300 the next day ! God takes care of us . The biggest miracle of all is God gave us our daughter but thats a LONG story !! God bless

  5. I love this post! Thank you Melanie for sharing! We get so distracted with the worldly things, that forget the most important one, which is God! Thank you so much Angie for Sharing your story as well. I remember many many moments in where I was in the same position in the past, but i always prayed and trusted that God was going take care of me. God still make miracles every day.. we just decide not to live by faith (at least not as often as we should).
Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need Matthew 6:33
    Have a good day ladies!
