Stitch Fix Review #8 August 2015: Goodbye Summer, Hello Fall

Is it already time for my August Stitch Fix review?
Summer, you always come and go so fast! But fall, how I love you so.

Guess this means it's time to update my Stitch Fix style profile and Pinterest board for the transition to cooler weather. Hooray for sweater season!

Back to reality, the blazing hot reality.

For those of you who are new here, Stitch Fix is an online clothing subscription for women. Do you find it difficult to find the time to shop for clothes? Does your wardrobe need a makeover? Could you use a little help finding your personal style? Stitch Fix has your back!

Simply fill out a profile with your sizes, preferences, and a quick note letting them know what you are looking for and you'll be matched up with your very own personal stylist. He or she will mail you a box full of goodies to try on at home. Keep what you like and send the rest back in a prepaid envelope from your very own mailbox. Fill out a profile here.

This is my 8th fix. You can read about the rest here. I can't wait to show you what my personal stylist picked out just for me!

First up is the THML Christy Embroidered Top, straight from my Pinterest style board.
By now you probably know I'm obsessed with navy. And I've finally given in and admitted I like boho. This shirt is all that, and so many other things I love.

It's lightweight, hides the problem areas, can be worn with regular undergarments, and has fun detail.
$54 is more than I'd usually spend on a top, but the quality was there. This was my first top from THML, I love that Stitch Fix is introducing me to new brands!

This stitch reminds me of a baseball!

Unfortunately, the fit was a bit off at the shoulders, so I decided to return it. I already regret it, boo.

You may have also noticed the Kut from the Kloth Kate Distressed Boyfriend Jeans in the last picture, these were also in my box.

I really liked the fit, wash and style of these jeans, I'm a dark wash junky. Which is why I was so sad to send them back. The 8 was pretty baggy, but I was worried the 6 would be too short. I definitely would have paid $78 for these high quality jeans.

Here's another picture of the jeans with the Market & Spruce Austin Polka Dot & Striped Mixed Material Shirt for $44.

My daughter tried to steal this out of the box, but she's still a full size smaller than me. Sorry honey, someday you'll get your own fix!

Love the stripe & dot combination, as well as the blue and grey. Unfortunately, the combination of thin material and horizontal stripes were not a flattering combination for this mother of 4. Can you tell I wasn't into it? Lol.

However, it was most definitely everything I am asking for. Casual, easy to throw on with jeans, and has interesting detail.

Such was also the case with this Fun2Fun Newcomb Crochet Detail Top in purple for $44.

I think this top is a perfect combination of casual, romantic (feminine) and is a beautiful rich color.

I appreciate that it is conservative and goes well with jeans. Unfortunately sleeveless tops these days seem to be too far inset. Am I the only one who has a problem with this? I also don't care for the hi lo hem, to me it just emphasis my pear shape.

I wish I'd had my new dark wash jean jacket to style with these tops when my fix came in. I think it would be super cute, especially with the purple one. But it is truly hot here, and I see no relief in the near future, so this pretty top is off to a happier home.

My last item was this Fun2Fun Holsten Crochet Trim Blouse for $48.

Here's what my stylist had to say about this top:
"The Holsten crochet trim blouse is a great option to wear for your interview and can be worn with navy trousers or a skirt."

I love that they read my previous note and sent an item to pair with something I already own, and paid attention to my request for something to wear for this extraordinary interview opportunity!

I can't get enough of that adorable trim on the sleeves, and you know this is MY color.

I didn't realize how much floral I had on my Pinterest style board until I pulled this out of the box. Turns out this is WAY more floral than I can handle. Pinterest adjusted!

So it turns out I didn't keep anything from this fix, but don't worry. I did land the job :)

As you may have already guessed from last weeks spoiler, soon I'll be working for Stitch Fix, too! I am really excited about this opportunity to work from home doing something I love with a company I admire. And, get a discount on the clothes, too :)

Are you ready to try Stitch Fix? If you do, I'd love it if you used my referral! Here it is:

So, you may not see quite as many reveals. And no, I won't be spilling the beans about the behind the scenes. But I do plan to keep sharing my favorite Stitch Fix finds with you. And maybe, just maybe, I'll have some new tips for getting your best fix.

In the mean time, thanks for stopping by and have a splendiferous day!

  1. Congratulations on the new job! Yay, you!

And while I think the floral top did look nice on you, the boho blouse seems decidedly more your style. I suspect there will be more of that in your future.

  2. Congrats on the new job! Can you share a little about how you landed it? I checked out the website but all of their positions show an actual location, not "work from home." Thanks! :)
