Meet the Artist & Giveaway: Ladesigns2

That's right ANOTHER giveaway!
This time I've teamed up with Lee Anne over at Ladesigns2
who's been kind enough to offer up a $15 Gift Certificate to her shop!

Oh my, whatever shall you spend it on....
You've definitely got to try her organizer baskets.
And, of course, you've got to get ready for Halloween!

I can think of a million things I could do with these, and Lee Anne has just about that many to pick from!
For starters, you could use one for trick or treating, whether you are dishing it out or taking it!
Lee Anne inspired me to get ready for Halloween, prompting my newest mini notebooks!
They would look great in these baskets :)

In case you couldn't tell, I'm a sucker for retro fabric, but Lee Anne has many to choose from.
She uses bright, cheerful fabrics to cover both the outside and inside making each basket double the fun!

Lee Anne sent me a basket to try out, isn't that sweet? I REALLY love it!
I put my paper crafting stuff in mine:

I thought about listing all of the stuff I could fit in it, but that would take all day!
These baskets are the perfect size for keeping like-things together.
I'm not just saying this to be nice, these really are the ideal size.

I can see this next one in our living room, full of figurines and little trinkets,
or in my daughters room full of art supplies:

I could seriously go on and on about the baskets,
but Lee Anne's got some other cute stuff you've got to see!

You really should head over and see for yourself the great selection at Ladesigns2.

In the mean time, let's see what Lee Anne had to say about herself and her wares:

Q: Tell me a little about yourself and how you got started.
A: My name is Lee Anne Green, the designer behind Ladesigns2! I live with my wonderful hubby, 2 children and one spoiled dog in beautiful Lexington, Kentucky. I am a teacher and LOVE to sew in my spare time! After I had kids I quit teaching full time for a while to stay home with them. Sewing was a way to earn a little extra money!

I started out on Ebay making those placemat purses years ago, remember those? Now I make all kinds of fabric organizer baskets for the home, Easter and Halloween baskets, bags, purses, key fobs and even the occasional dog collar and leash! Pincushions are my current favorite to make!

Q: How did you learn to sew?
A: I grew up watching my mother sew for me and my brother, so it just came naturally and when I had kids I did the same! Fabric was her passion too!

Q: Your bins seem to be the best sellers. How did these come to be?
A: I needed some storage for my sewing room and kids room and just decided to make some totes without handles. The baskets have evolved from there!

Q: How would you define your style? How does this reflect in your shop?
A: My style is SAHM style, I think. I try to give people things that I would use myself and for my kids!

Q: If you were to sew yourself something today, what would it be?
A: Probably a tote, I am always in need of a new purse! Aren’t we all!

Q: Who inspires you?
A: The boutique groups I have been in have had some wonderful gals who have been a huge inspiration thru the years!

Q: What do you like to "window shop" for on Etsy?
A: Well, I absolutely adore Waldorf dolls and so wish I could make them! I love to look at them on FB and Etsy! One of my fav shops is Woolhalla. She is amazing! I just drool every time I look at her shop!

Q: Are you a member of any Etsy teams?
A: Yes, Etsykids Team, Etsymoms Team and Sugar3 Team.

Q: What's the best advice about your shop/items you've received?
A: Facebook has been a blessing to sales. A friend suggested it to me. Since it is where everyone is now days, I suggest anyone who wants to gain fans, promote on FB often! I do a lot of giveaways there, too!

Q: Have your items/shop received any special attention or achieved any milestones?
A: I have been featured in a lot of treasuries on Etsy. I just passed 300 fans on Facebook which seems unbelievable to me!

Well Lee Anne, I can certainly see why! Your stuff is AMAZING!

Next Up Bedesisters!

I am pleased to introduce Kay and Lori, owners of bedesisters. They make fantastic fabric bins, diaper bags, purses, totes, and Christmas stockings. Their use of red, white and blue put me in the holiday spirit!
Small Fabric Bins made from a vintage quilt top

Kay took some time to tell us about her Etsy business:

Q: What is the most popular item in your shop?
A: It depends on the season. For most of the year, it's the fabric baskets. I also do custom sizes and fabrics. Last Christmas, my stockings made from vintage quilts were a hit.

Q: What is the best business decision you ever made?
A: My best decision, I think, is offering custom work. People love to have something uniquely theirs. They can express their own style and I love to be a part of that process.

Q: Worst?
A: I've tried to do to many things (I still struggle with this!). I've found more success as I've focused on a few things I can do well.

Q: How do you come up with new ideas?
A: I look at what others are doing, not to copy, but to see color trends or themes. One of my favorite things to do for inspiration is to search for quilts, both new and vintage. I don't make quilts, but the colors and designs stir my creative side.

Q: What is the best compliment your shop/you have received?
A: I love it when customers like what I've made for them, but my all time favorite compliment was about our customer service:

"Excellent, speedy, responsive customer service when I had a problem placing my order. Thanks!"
